Commercial Drywall · Taping & Finishing
Level 4 and Level 5 drywall finishing for commercial fit outs, multi family builds, and tenant improvements.
Taping and mudding is the finishing stage that turns hung drywall into a smooth, paint ready surface by sealing the joints with tape and joint compound. Pristine Drywall tapes, mudds, and sands to Level 4 and Level 5 finishes for general contractors and developers. Every wall is finished to the spec for its lighting condition and left ready for primer and paint.
Scope of work
The details
Drywall finish levels run from Level 0, bare board, to Level 5, a full skim coat. Level 4 covers most commercial walls and takes flat or eggshell paint. Level 5 adds a thin skim over the entire surface so the wall reads flat under bright or raking light. We finish each area to the level its lighting and paint call for.
Level 5 is for walls that face critical light: lobbies, feature walls, gloss or low sheen paint, and large glazed areas where side light grazes the surface. The full skim coat hides the joint and fastener telegraphing that a Level 4 would show under those conditions.
We seal the work area with poly dust barriers, tarp floors, and use dust controlled sanding so fine joint dust does not migrate into occupied or finished spaces. Sites are swept and left clean at the end of every shift.

Level 4 leaves a smooth finish over tape, fasteners, and corner bead, and suits most commercial walls under flat or eggshell paint. Level 5 adds a thin skim coat across the whole surface so it stays flat under bright, glossy, or raking light. The right choice depends on the lighting and the paint sheen.
A standard finish is three coats of joint compound: a bed coat to set the tape, a fill coat, and a finish coat, each sanded smooth. A Level 5 wall adds a skim coat over the entire surface on top of those three.
Yes. Each coat is left to dry, then sanded before the next so the surface builds up flat with no ridges or tool marks. Final sanding leaves the wall primer ready.
Yes. We match common wall and ceiling textures on patches and repairs, then feather the edges so the repair blends into the surrounding surface and disappears under paint.
Timeline depends on square footage, coat schedule, and drying time between coats, and Level 5 adds a pass. After the site walk we give a written schedule with your estimate, then crews scale to hold the general contractor's dates.
