Textured ceiling work covers installing a new sprayed or hand applied ceiling texture and repairing damaged sections of an existing one. Pristine Drywall installs and repairs knockdown, stipple, and sprayed ceiling finishes for property managers, general contractors, and developers. Every ceiling is prepped, textured, and blended so a new finish looks uniform and a repair disappears into the surrounding surface.

The details

Textured ceiling questions, answered

What ceiling textures can you install?

We install the common sprayed and hand applied ceiling finishes, including knockdown, orange peel, stipple, and stomp. Texture choice comes down to the look you want and how well it hides minor surface variation, and we can show samples before spraying the full ceiling.

Can you repair a section of a textured ceiling?

Yes. We patch the damaged area, match the existing texture grade and pattern with a test patch, then feather the new texture into the surrounding ceiling. Done right, the repair blends in and disappears once the ceiling is painted.

Should I install texture or go smooth?

Texture hides minor surface variation and is faster over large ceilings, while a smooth Level 5 finish reads more modern but shows every flaw under light. We help you weigh the look, the lighting, and the budget, then install whichever suits the space.

Questions

Textured ceiling FAQ

Knockdown is the most common ceiling texture in newer buildings. It is sprayed on and partly flattened with a blade for a low profile, mottled look that hides minor surface variation. Orange peel and stipple are also popular where a finer or heavier pattern is wanted.

Yes. After a repair, an addition, or new fixtures, we re texture the affected area or the full ceiling so the finish is uniform. We match the existing pattern with a test patch, or re texture the whole ceiling for a fresh, even look.

Yes. We spray texture over new drywall once it is taped and primed, giving a uniform finish across the whole ceiling. New work blends with any adjacent existing ceiling because we match the grade and pattern before spraying.

Yes. Where you would rather have a smooth, modern ceiling, we can scrape or skim over the texture and finish it to a smooth Level 4 or Level 5 surface instead of matching the old pattern.

Spraying texture is fast, but prep, drying time, and paint set the overall schedule, and a repair adds patch and dry time. After the site visit we give a written timeline with the estimate so you know what to expect.
